It is the annual ceremony dedicated to Catalan Literature. During the ceremony, the most important prizes of Catalan literature are awarded: for novels (Premi Sant Jordi, the most important written in Catalan, 60.000€ prize), poetry (Premi Carles Riba), short stories (Premi Mercè Rodoreda de Contes i Narracions), as well as a communication prize for media and an international award. Also, the two most important prizes for literature aimed at teenagers and children (Premi Josep M. Folch i Torres, i Premi Joaquim Ruyra) are awarded that night.  It is usually broadcasted on live TV, and attended by regional and local authorities.
