Created in 1969, the award is given annually to a person who, through his/her Catalan-language literary or scientific output, and because of the importance and exemplarity of his/her intellectual work, has contributed significantly to the cultural advancement of the Catalan language. In 2020, the poet Enric Casasses won the 52nd edition of this prestigious prize, that gives the winner 20.000€.
